Squamata: Carphodactylidae
Saltuarius cornutus
A Northern Leaf-tailed Gecko discovered on a rainforest tree in Kingfisher Park, Julatten, during an evening spotlighting expedition.
The gecko is waiting, facing down the tree, for a large insect or similar prey to come along. It is not a high energy activity so the gecko can tolerate long waits between meals.
